Gawsworth Primary School

The first school in Gawsworth was built by Lord Mohun in 1707 close to the Church of St James, it was used as the village school until 1832 and is now the new Rectory.  A school was then opened on Church Lane, which was used until 1966 when, owing to the expansion of the village a new school was needed.

The school is rated Good by OfSTED and educates 200 children across 8 classes.

Friends of Gawsworth

The Friends of Gawsworth (FOG) is the parent teacher association for Gawsworth school and supports the school through year-round fundraising activities. FOG organises parent coffee mornings, the frost fair, the Rose Queen fete and film nights for pupils.

FOG welcomes volunteers willing to join the committee or spare an hour at one of their events.

The Chair of FOG is Kerry Webb and you can find out more about them on the school website.
