A Gawsworth Parish Council noticeboard

Cheshire East Ward Review

The Local Government Boundary Commission wants to hear what residents and local organisations think about the proposals for new warding arrangements at Cheshire East.

A ten-week consultation on the proposals will run until 9 December 2024.

The Commission is the independent body that draws these boundaries. It is reviewing Cheshire East Council to make sure councillors will represent about the same number of electors, and that ward arrangements will help the council work effectively.

The Commission has published proposals for changes to Cheshire East. It is proposing that there should be 82 councillors representing 50 wards. Most wards will change.

Under proposals out for consultation, the majority of Gawsworth Parish continues to be part of Gawsworth CE ward though the boundaries of this ward are being amended. Gawsworth Moss residents will continue to be part of Macclesfield South CE ward with the boundary being amended to include the LPS15 development site.
