Development proposed off Penningtons Lane

Richborough Estates / Asteer Planning has launched a pre-application consultation on a proposed development off Penningtons Lane. The consultation page is here: https://www.asteerplanning.com/penningtonslane

The site forms part of a parcel of land ‘safeguarded’ in the 2017 Local Plan (LPS19). This means it was removed from the green belt and identified for future development beyond the original local plan period.

Cheshire East Council no longer has a five-year housing land supply, this makes resisting development above the local plan more difficult.

This stage is a pre-application consultation – it is a stage where the developer can adjust the proposal before submitting a planning application. Comments therefore need to be sent to the developer, not Cheshire East Council.

The next stage would be an outline application which would seek approval for the principle of development. As part of this application, the developer would provide more detail on the proposals. This will include a statement of community consultation outlining what was raised in the pre-application consultation and how they have responded to it.
